Who are we
When we say ‘we’, ‘us’ or ‘our’ in this policy, we’re generally referring to the separate and distinct legal entities that make up the Janus International Group (although it does depend on the context). These include:

- Janus International Europe Ltd.

What sorts of information do we hold
- Information that you provide to us such as your name, address, date of birth, telephone number, email address, bank account and payment card details and any feedback you give to us, including by phone, email, post, or when you communicate with us via social media;
- Information about the Services that we provide to you (including for example, the things we have provided to you, when and where, what you paid, the way you use our products and Services, and so on);
- Your account login details, including your user name and chosen password;
- Information about any device you have used to access our Services (such as your device’s make and model, browser or IP address) and also how you use our Services. For example, if you use our websites, we try to identify when and how you use those websites.
- Your contact details and details of the emails and other electronic communications you receive from us, including whether that communication has been opened and if you have clicked on any links within that communication. We want to make sure that our communications are useful for you, so if you don’t open them or don’t click on any links in them, we know we need to improve our Services.
Who we might share your information with
The Janus International Group Companies
We may share your personal information with other Janus International Group Companies from time to time so we can provide you with a high-quality service across our group. That includes sharing information with Steel Storage Europe Ltd, Steel Storage France Sarl, Janus International Europe Ltd and Janus International Group LLC.
Our service providers
We work with different partners, suppliers, and agencies and we only share information that allows them to provide their services to us or to facilitate them providing their services to you.
Other organisations and individuals:
We may transfer your personal information to other organisations in certain scenarios. For example:
- If we're discussing selling or transferring part or all of our business, we may share information about you to prospective purchasers - but only so they can evaluate the business.

If we agree that we are obliged to provide personal information to you (or someone else on your behalf), we will provide it to you or them free of charge.
Before providing personal information to you or another person on your behalf, we may ask for proof of identity and sufficient information about your interactions with us that we can locate your personal information.
If any of the personal information we hold about you is inaccurate or out of date, you may ask us to correct it.

How long do we keep your information for?
We will retain a record of your personal information. This is done in order to provide you with a high quality and consistent service across our group. We will always retain your personal information in accordance with law and regulation and never retain your information for longer than is necessary.
Visitors to our websites
When someone visits our website, we use a third-party service, Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. This information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone. We do not make, and do not allow Google to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website. If we do want to collect personally identifiable information through our website, we will be up front about this. We will make it clear when we collect personal information and will explain what we intend to do with it.
We use a third-party provider, Mail Chimp (subject to change), to deliver the industry e-newsletter and our product innovation updates which typically contains information about our products and services. We gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies to help us monitor and improve our e-newsletter.
We may use Mail Chimp (subject to change) to send updates to our customers regarding Factory closure dates and Customer Satisfaction Surveys.
Website Enquiries and Forms
When enquiries are submitted to us on our website, we will only use the information supplied to us to deal with the enquiry and any subsequent issues and to check on the level of service we provide (i.e. to conduct customer satisfaction surveys).
We will only use your personal information to send marketing updates if you have actively opted in, using any of our forms on our website.
Our website is designed to serve our customers/prospects in a best possible way. It offers the website visitors to download a free Annual Industry Survey and also asks for an active opt-in to subscribe to our marketing updates.
People who use our products and services
We have to hold the details of the people who have requested the service in order to provide it. However, we only use these details to provide the service the person has requested and for other closely related purposes. For example, we might use information about people who have requested our products/services to carry out a survey to find out if they are happy with the level of service they received. When people do subscribe to our services like, they can cancel their subscription at any time and are given an easy way of doing this.
We use several third-party companies/individuals to implement our projects, but they are only allowed to use the information to coordinate with customer contacts to successfully complete the project.
People who call our Office
When you call our office, we ask you for your personally identifiable information (PII), so that we can serve you better.
People who email us
Any email sent to us, including any attachments, may be monitored and used by us for reasons of security and for monitoring compliance with office policy. Email monitoring or blocking software may also be used. Please be aware that you have a responsibility to ensure that any email you send to us is within the bounds of the law.
We try to meet the highest standards when collecting and using personal information. For this reason, we take any complaints we receive about this very seriously. We encourage people to bring it to our attention if they think that our collection or use of information is unfair, misleading or inappropriate. We would also welcome any suggestions for improving our procedures.
People who make a complaint to us
When we receive a complaint from a person we make up a file containing the details of the complaint. This normally contains the identity of the complainant and any other individuals involved in the complaint. We will only use the personal information we collect to process the complaint and to check on the level of service we provide. We do compile and publish statistics showing information like the number of complaints we receive, but not in a form which identifies anyone.
We usually have to disclose the complainant’s identity to whoever the complaint is about. This is inevitable where, for example, the accuracy of a person’s record is in dispute. If a complainant doesn’t want information identifying him or her to be disclosed, we will try to respect that. However, it may not be possible to handle a complaint on an anonymous basis.
We will keep personal information contained in complaint files in line with our retention policy. This means that information relating to a complaint will be retained for two years from closure. It will be retained in a secure environment and access to it will be restricted according to the ‘need to know’ principle.

Sharing your thoughts
When using one of our websites or mobile applications, you may be able to share information through social networks like Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter. For example, when you ‘like’, ‘share’ or review our Services. When doing this your personal information may be visible to the providers of those social networks, their other users and/or Janus International Group Companies. Please remember it is your responsibility to set appropriate privacy settings on your social network accounts so you are comfortable with how your information is used and shared on them.
We take security measures to protect your information including:
- limiting access to our buildings to those that we believe are entitled to be there (by use of passes, key card access and other related technologies)
- implementing access controls to our information technology, such as firewalls, ID verification and logical segmentation and/ or physical separation of our systems and information
- never asking you for your passwords
- advising you never to enter your account number or password into an email or after following a link from an email.
