Lock+Store are a self-storage pioneer in Singapore. They opened their first store in Tanjong Pagar near the central business district in 2004 and to date they are the only self-storage facility in such close proximity to the business district.
In 2008 they opened their second store in the Bedok/Chai Chee area. This facility also includes wine storage to cater to the growing demand since wine storage as a self-storage concept was introduced to the Singapore market in 2007.
Both facilities grew through expansion to meet the demand for self-storage in Singapore and in March 2013 Lock+Store was bought by Singapore Post (SingPost). For SingPost the acquisition meant an expansion of its existing self-storage business, Self Storage Solutions (S3). "The self-storage business is an attractive usage option for the industrial-zoned space of our properties. This acquisition is strategic, paving the way for SingPost to extract greater value from our existing properties," said group chief financial officer Ng Hin Lee (quote taken from AsiaOne Business). After the purchase, S3 was rebranded Lock+Store Ayer Rajah.
What our client has to say
"Steel Storage offer a high-quality self-storage product, so it is not strange that both Self Storage Solutions (S3) and Lock+Store used that product when we first built our self-storage facilities in Singapore. And now that Lock+Store is managing the Ayer Rajah facility this fact works in our favour, as all our stores will have the same look and feel that our customers have come to expect from us. We have always worked well with Steel Storage and will continue working with them on our future projects."
